Jeeeeesus Murphy. We’re playing a Peak Performance Project showcase tomorrow night with Luca Fogale, Fallbrigade, and Van Damsel. I’m insanely nervous and excited. TOUR SOON.
So, fairly soon I’ll be venturing back to my folks’ place to set up shop. Home sweet house, I suppose. It’s quite a peculiar feeling - crawling back to the place I left willingly to become homeless. Certain things were happening ‘round the ol’ homestead that I wasn’t a fan of, so I left. I’ll admit, I’m a stubborn brute sometimes. I don’t like sucking up my pride. But I feel like now could be an opportunity to repair whatever wrongdoings I’ve made, and further develop a neglected relationship between my stepbrother and I. This stepbrother, who is nearing eleven years old, spends more time fixed on a television screen than he does in the throes of nature’s grandeur. As a child, yes, I watched TV a bit. But I have a wealth of memories of doing so much more than that. Each day was an adventure that withheld endless possibility. The house he lives in sits on 5 acres of rolling emerald hills, nestled between farming properties. And yet, the boy lies in wait of a journey to find him while reaching to the deepest depths of a Doritos bag; chemical cheese-dyed fingers loosely mirror the hue of the sunsets that he’s missing.
This is where I’m the invader again - where I clumsily attempt to erect a new comfortable place to create and discover. But I’m perpetually a spatula, and my family is an under-cooked omelette. Here I go, flipping everyone on their head without considering the time they’re at in their lives, and their readiness to accept someone into it.
I hope the pan is nonstick.
Hello people. So, things have been rather busy these past few weeks. Between recording at The Hive with Colin Stewart, recording live videos, and playing shows, I haven’t had too much time to unwind. Soon I’m going to post some solo material that I started over a year ago. Summer is quickly approaching and I’m VERY excited.
New things are coming together with music and I’m super excited about it. Collaborations with well-known Vancouver musicians are underway, and it will greatly increase my knowledge and following with my music career.
Also… NEW JAM SPACE FOR GOOD FOR GRAPES!!! and possibly a second jam space for my own stuff and collaborations. Hellz yeah rehearsals.
